What is Yoga??
 
Yoga is translated as the union of the body, mind and spirit
 
Akhanda Yoga- The intention of Akhanda yoga is to offer holistic,non-competitive yoga classes with an emphasis on balanced sequencing of postures, breath, relaxation, mantra, and meditation. These classes are intended to give the students access to more of the diverse teaching and techniques that the traditional yoga system has to offer. When practised and understood holistically, yoga becomes even more beneficial and helpful for humanity in bringing harmony and balance to our lives, families and society.
 
 Akhanda level 1-is intended to teach basic priniples of breath, movement, alignment and relaxation to beginning students. Students learn 3-part yogic breath, ocean sounding breath and some practical concentration and meditation techniques. This level aims to balance flexibility and strength, students become aware of tightness they carry in the body, and into the asana practise and begin to become aware of the breath, to use the breath to initiate the postures.
 
Akhanda level 2-is intended to inspire intermediate students to journey further into their exploration of the mind/body connection through more balancing, strengthening and inverted postures, as well as additional pranayama techniques and slightly longer meditations. Evokes the energetic and mental/emotional levels of awareness.
 
Hatha Yoga- A gentle form of yoga that focuses on the breathwork,stretching, meditation. Perfect for calming the mind and grounding. Hatha yoga is the umbrella under which most of they styles of yoga fall.
 
Pre-Natal Yoga- A Gentle yoga practise that offers a time to connect with the baby and your changing body. Yoga has many benefits for pregnant women. Benefits are many including a sense of grounding, yoga helps to ground the emotions, helps with release of back pain or strain, space for the breath, physically yoga helps to create more space for breath. Strength and flexibility is also increased and yoga practise will also aid with preparing for birth by teaching you to consciously relax and focus on the breath.
 
Beginner level running program: Beginner level running program. This walk/run program is designed to gradually run for an extended time each week.

*Yoga Classes are $72.00 per 6 week session*
